My name is Olivier, I live in Belgium and I graduated as a sommelier-conseil from the Wine University in Suze-la-Rousse, France. My professional path has led me to other things, but my passion for wine is very much alive and writing this blog is one way of finding an outlet for my discoveries, opinions, tasting reports and travelogues.

When it comes to preferences, I believe there are two kinds of people : those who feel attracted to one region, country or grape and want to know everything there is to know about it, and those who want the overview and taste everything there is to taste to get a better understanding of the wine world. I belong to the latter, driven by curiosity, my propensity for exotism, and admittedly, an urge to say ‘Ha! I bet you didn’t know that before!’.

Despite my will to taste widely, I do have a soft spot for wines that are “fresh”, elegant and balanced. France and Italy are obvious places to look for such wines, and that will keep me busy for a long time, if not the rest of my life, but I fully realize that this type of wine is to be found in many places, and I’m very happy for that as it makes the world my playground.

About the name of my blog : I believe my taste buds are the best judge. Regardless of the price tag…
